When a unit above leaks, the bathroom below takes the hit - hard. We're talking ceiling drywall that gets completely saturated and collapses, walls that soak through down to the studs, and damage that goes way deeper than what you can see on the surface. That's exactly what we were working with here. The scope of destruction was serious - exposed framing, dark moisture staining covering entire wall sections, and a ceiling that had simply given up.

Here's the thing about water damage: you can't just patch over it. If you skip the dry-out and skip treating the problem areas, you're setting yourself up for mold and a repair that fails. So before any new drywall went up, we made sure everything was properly dried out and any compromised material was fully removed. No shortcuts. The framing had to be in clean, solid shape before we could move forward.

Once the space was ready, we got to work hanging new drywall across the walls and ceiling. After that came taping, mudding, and getting everything smooth. Then a solid coat of primer - you can see the Preprite on site - before the finish paint went on. Primer matters a lot in a repair like this. It seals the new drywall properly and gives the paint something to grip so the finish actually holds up long-term.

What we ended up with is a bathroom that looks clean and solid again. The walls are smooth, the ceiling is flat, and there's no trace of the chaos that was there before. That kind of result doesn't happen by accident - it's the product of doing each step right, in the right order.

Water damage repairs like this are a big part of what we do. Whether it's a small ceiling stain or a full wall blowout from a leak above, we handle the drywall repair and painting side from start to finish so the space comes back looking the way it should.
