Smoke stains and old water marks don't just look bad - they bleed right through fresh paint if you don't treat them first. That's the kind of thing that separates a paint job that holds up from one that looks rough six months later. This home had both, plus vaulted ceilings that made every step of the process more involved.

Before a single drop of paint goes on, we make sure the surfaces are actually ready for it. That means addressing the drywall where it needs it, treating problem spots so stains don't ghost through the finish, and getting everything properly protected. Furniture wrapped, stairs covered, floors down. The prep work on a job like this is a real undertaking, and skipping any of it shows up in the final result.

Tall ceilings add a layer of difficulty that most people underestimate. You're working at height, managing scaffolding and ladders across a large open space, and making sure coverage is consistent all the way up. It takes more time, more care, and the right setup to do it cleanly. We don't rush that part.

The drywall repair side of this job was just as important as the painting. All those patched spots across the walls had to be skimmed, sanded, and primed so they'd disappear into the finished surface - not stand out under light. Getting that smooth, even base is what makes the final coat look like it belongs there.

What we're left with when it's all done is a clean, fresh interior that doesn't carry any trace of the issues it came in with. No bleed-through, no uneven texture, no missed spots up high. Just solid work done the right way from the start.
